PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Alaska Educational Innovations Network guides its professional development work through the Standards from the National Staff Development Council. NSDC emphasizes that effective professional learning is ongoing, job-embedded, and guided by student learning needs. Yearly, AEIN network schools use the NSDC survey to gauge their progress toward the professional development standards.

NETWORK LEARNING

A key innovation in the AEIN grant is the concept of "network learning." The goal is to bring together learners and teachers throughout the network to collaborate on solving the issues that face Alaskan educators. In essence, we believe that all of us know more than any of us and that key solutions to the problems we face can be found within our shared wisdom.

Hence, we have placed information from Network Schools Academies and other AEIN programs and events on this portion of the website. These resources will be updated regularly. Ultimately, partners will use this location for adding information/resources their colleagues can use across the various network sites. The information is freely available for use.
