Dr. Shaw began her teaching career as an elementary school teacher in Texas. For the past eleven and one-half years she has been on the faculty of the University of Alaska Anchorage. Dr. Shaw has a national publication and presentation record in elementary science education. She is a frequent presenter at science conferences and Kappa Delta Pi (honor society) conferences. In Anchorage and surrounding areas she is best known for her motivational science shows for children and teachers. Dr. Shaw is co-author of a recently published book on integrating science and language arts for elementary school teachers. 


 

	Integrating Science and Language Arts
	This is a hands-on activity-based book. It focuses on dynamic science demonstration and exploration plus reading/writing processes such as comprehension, research, response, and exploration of books and genre. Efficient and easy-to-use, it represents the efforts of one co-author with expertise in science education.
