Thirty Faculty Fellows from Alaska Pacific University, Kenai Peninsula College, and UAA attended one of two week-long faculty development workshops in May 2006.  These intensive workshops introduced faculty leaders to a variety of approaches and techniques for constructively addressing controversy in the classroom.

 

Each Faculty Fellow will use one or more of the techniques in their classes during the 2007 academic year. The entire group will re-convene in May 2007 for a three day evaluation retreat to assess their experiences and develop a handbook of best practices.
