Learn More About the TEACH Grant Program

This is a Federal Grant Program. Here are a few of the facts:

  • For undergraduate or graduate students
  • For students who intend to teach in public or private
elementary or secondary schools that serve students
    from low-income families
  • You must teach in a low-income school for at least
    four years
  • Your teaching service must be in a high-need field

Note: If you fail to complete this service obligation, all
amounts of TEACH Grants that you received will be
converted to a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan.
You must then repay the loan and you will be charged
interest from the date the grant was disbursed.

UAA has been approved to administer the Grant and
the details of the program are presently being worked on.
The Grant will be disbursed for Fall 2008,  but most likely
will NOT be at the beginning of the term.
