The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (OURS) is a division of the University Honors College. It is devoted to undergraduate accomplishment through inquiry, discovery and creativity across all disciplines and within a global community of scholars. Fostering inspired teaching and engaged student learning, OURS advances the involvement of UAA students in research and creative activities—whether they be independent or with UAA faculty. OURS supports a wide variety of opportunities, including ten campus-wide award programs.

| Intern Fall Semester in Washington DC - Full Scholarships Available. Through The Washington Center, UAA students can participate in semester-long academic internships in Washington, D.C. for credit. The fifteen-week program provides tailored internships that match the students’ academic, personal, and professional interests. The scholarship covers the program fee, housing, roundtrip air travel, and a living expense allowance. Three full scholarships are available for students from Alaska for Fall 2008. Are you interested in helping your community? Do you need money? This award supports UAA's partnerships in the community and encourages the practical application of scholarly inquiry. You can design your own research project to address a specific need in the Anchorage community. Awards can fund up to $2000 in project expenses and you will be awarded a $500 stipend.
